Keeps on delaying my flight and I can't go to school and work for 2 days!!!
Better than walking - assuming the flight actually arrives/leaves.
Arrived 40 minutes early to check in and go through security but the people from American Airlines saw me approaching with only my backpack and turned off the lights and closed the check in desk and kiosk. They didn't acknowledge my presence or my questions and proceeded to turn and leave through a back door. I logged online and made a mobile copy of my ticket with 37 minutes before takeoff. I started to go through security with a perfectly good mobile ticket and security refused to let me through because they close the doors to the plane 45 minutes before flight, so I missed my flight. I walked outside and watched for 30 more minutes with the cabin door wide open with the ramp still against the plane. I called American Airlines to see what was up and was told I have to be "checked" in within 30 minutes online or at the front desk and through the security within 10 minutes, meaning between the front desk and the security team they MADE me ON PURPOSE miss my flight. Beware this airport!
American Airlines tends to make its own rules here. They like to leave earlier than scheduled departure, like 20 minutes or more, which is not right. Having been in the airline industry for 15 years, that just is not done. Although it helps with their on time performance record, the traveler gets screwed and then has to pay to change ticket. Beware!!!!!
